Sunset Misty Ruins - Mixed Media

Sunset Misty Ruins
This week my art classes were painting misty ruins. We started with a graphite line drawing.  Using lots of graphite including all the shadows and building texture. Make the building dark as we are painting a sunset.

The next step is to apply water colour make the sky a flat yellow the building a deep red, purple or blue and the ground green or any deep colour.

When the paint is dry use pastel to place in cloud and smug delicately with a finger tip. Apply a band of white pastel right across the building and smooth out to simulate mist. Finally add pastel in small blocks of colour to highlight the building.
